Firstly, all you really need is a laptop — it’s the ideal choice. A tablet works as well, but it is much harder to position at the correct camera angle without a dedicated stand, whereas a laptop screen adjusts effortlessly. Mobile phones will not work because the screen is too small, and you will likely struggle to see the learning materials I share during the lesson.

Before every meeting

1️⃣ Sit on a stable, knee-high chair without wheels or armrests. Use a footstool if needed.

2️⃣ Check your guitar tuning and tune it if necessary.

3️⃣ Position your camera correctly:

👉 Place your laptop so that the camera is at chest height.

👉 Sit facing the camera so that both your entire guitar and your face are visible.

👉 Slightly turn your chair and body to the right, ensuring your left hand is closer to the camera than your right.

P.S. The best lighting comes from a window or a lamp positioned in front of you. Avoid having light sources behind or to the side of you.

Not necessarily. I have guitars and all the necessary equipment available during the lesson. However, most students prefer to bring their own instruments because they are already used to the feel of them.

For our first meeting, it’s best to come with your own instrument if you have one. This allows me to evaluate how well it suits you, check its setup condition, and address other technical nuances.

If this is your very first lesson and you don't own a guitar yet, you can absolutely come without one. Be ready to buy one in the following days; during our first session, I will give you all the advice you need so you know exactly what to buy to achieve your goals.

There is no single timeline because "being able to play" means something different to everyone — whether your dream is strumming basic chords along with your favorite songs, playing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, or mastering jazz improvisation.

How fast you progress comes down to a unique mix of factors: your natural physical and musical coordination, your ability to focus, and most importantly, your drive and time management. What one student grasps in their very first lesson might take another a year of steady work.
